HISTORY OF FIRM

Biggerstaff Minden & Hall P.A./ Architects, recently known as Saxton Smith Biggerstaff Minden P.A. was originally formed in 1963 by Bob Wanslow and Bill Saxton as Wanslow Saxton Associates, with offices in Fort Smith and Russellville. Carl J. Smith joined Mr. Wanslow and Mr. Saxton in 1969. The firm, most recently known as Saxton Smith Associates, has under gone several name changes throughout its history, but still remains a constant source of strength and integrity with every change in office personnel.











































CHARLES PAT BIGGERSTAFF

Charles Patrick Biggerstaff joined Saxton Wanslow Smith in 1981 after working with the Van Buren Community Development as Project Supervisor on the Downtown Re-Development of the Historic District in Van Buren. He became a principal in the firm, Saxton Smith in 1995.

Experience:
Through the years Pat Biggerstaff has remained involved with the Historical District, renovating the Van Buren Depot and the King Opera House. He designed the Riverfront Walkway, the Depot Park in Van Buren, and the recently completed renovation to the Van Buren Courthouse Clock Tower. Other projects include, the Renovation of the Van Buren Historical Jail and new Veterans Memorial Park.

Pat Biggerstaff was Project Architect on several local educational facilities which include Coleman Junior High, Parkview and Rena Elementary Schools in Van Buren. Additions to Van Buren High School, Middle School and Center Heights Elementary. Pat Biggerstaff was the Architect on the Life Center for Trinity Temple Church in Fort Smith. He recently designed the Cavanaugh Freewill Baptist Church Educational, Administration & Worship Facility in Riley Farms Sub-Division in Fort Smith.

JO DAWN MINDEN

Working with the Design Team, Mrs. Minden will be responsible for administration, developing projects and field observation of projects in our Russellville office and will be available to discuss local projects as needed. Mrs. Minden joined the firm in 1997 and became principal in 1992.

Experience:
Jo Minden was the Project Architect on the Renovation of the Pope County Courthouse in 1992. With the exception of the more recent courtroom addition, the four - story courthouse was completely renovated. The courthouse was kept in operation throughout the two-year renovation project.

Jo Minden has worked on the Renovation of historical public buildings; Logan County Courthouse in Boonville & Paris. The Logan County Museum & Jail, and the Old Union Community School House. She was the Project Architect on the ADA Renovation of the Logan County Courthouses in Paris and Booneville.

Jo Minden was the Project Architect on the Pottsville Junior High. She was the Project Architect on the recently completed Russellville Junior High School Complex and Russellville High School Improvements. She was responsible for the recent Pottsville High School Addition and Pottsville Middle School Addition. Pottsville Football Stadium and Fieldhouse. She works with Friendship Community Care, Inc. in Russellville designing educational facilities and housing for Special Needs children and adults and also housing for the elderly.

LARRY HALL

Working with the Design Team, Larry Hall will be responsible for administration, developing design projects, producing construction documents and field observation in our Fort Smith Office.

Larry Hall, has worked on projects that include medical, educational, institutional, commercial, multi-family housing, industrial and religious facilities.

Experience:
Larry Hall joined Biggerstaff Minden & Hall P.A./ Architects in 2000, after practicing Architecture on a wide variety of projects, on his own and with others for the past 25 years.
